During a health emergency ministries of health face countless challenges that mostly stem from poor communication with health workers. When ministries of health cannot send out critical, lifesaving information, frontline health workers don't have the knowledge and skills needed to test, diagnose and treat cases , to protect themselves from contracting the disease, and to do prevention work in the communities they serve. When frontline health workers cannot pass information along to health officials, ministries of health cannot make decisions that ensure a suitable, timely, and coordinated response.
mHero is a two-way communication platform that played a crucial role in the response to the West Africa Ebola outbreak from 2013-2016. It is a flexible, scalable, and sustainable solution that connects health officials with frontline health workers using platforms and channels that already exist locally. IntraHealth led the development and deployment of the tool during the Ebola crisis and our team has since been updating the platform, so our team would be able to remotely assist with implementing it anywhere in the world. Get in touch if you are interested in using mHero in your COVID-19 response efforts.
